Hello, I'm new here and I have a mod project that I'm going to release as soon as it will be done. I think it is very perspective project which is really like stock starfury but it's much different. I know there is currently really lack of visitors but maybe there's still an admin or somebody who could help to create such a subforum like those above for my project.

Heh, I couldn't say that's really hard, It's some kind of pleasure for me. The quadrant is almost done, I need to add just one last race for this mod... then storyline, I have some ideas for it...

Now I'm adding some Jraenar ships, later I'll add jraenar systems. They are the last race I want to add to this mod because there's really lack of free space on quadrant map. I hope there will be at least 91 (just like in stock campaings) solar system but I'll try to place somewhere more.
I will tell more about my mod later.

So I have those empires:

Peoples Republic of Cevulon and Okularin (PRCO) - Some unusual terran ships. In what way unusual? You couldn't buy them in stock campaings + Terran Drednought used as a Battleship.
Norak Continuum - Traditional Norak ships from SEV
Piundon Empire - Default (Neutral) SEV shipset
Ukra-Tal Collective - Eee shipset, yeah, that's strange but I didn't want to use original Ukra-Tal shipset because it was in the stock campaigns as an Amonkrie. And in some way Eee shipset looks like organic Ukra-Tal ships from SEV.
Jraenar Imperium - Jraenar shipset from SEV

PRCO (your starting race) are allied to Ukra-Tal
Jraenar are allied to Piundon (both your enemies)
Norak are alone (enemies for you and Jraenar-Piundon)

Perhaps, Eee shipset doesn't really fit Ukra-Tal, should I use original Ukra-Tal shipset and ignore that destroyer, cruiser and starbase were in original campaigns? What do you guys think?

Why not just call them Eee in your mod if that bothers you?

Well, I know renaming is the easiest way to solve the problem, but than there could be strangeness with their technology. In SEV Ukra-Tal uses organic tech, but not Eee, and I have already added organic tech for them. Also with storyline, if there're Eee than there must be Drushoka as their mortal enemies. Logic is really important and I don't want to use Eee shipset now because I have some thought about other SF mod projects, maybe they could be in the future.
So, which shipset is better? Ukra-Tal or Eee?

I think the right decision is to let Ukra-Tal be with their original shipset, although few of them were in stock campaigns, but here are also more ships. They are heavy and not:
Carrier


Battleship


Typical starbase in border system


A lot of Ukra-Tal ships available in ship dealer


Traditional Ukra-Tal weapons (mostly organic)


Note: Cruiser, Destroyer, Starbase are not using old SF textures and models, only better graphics from SEV

Another quite interesting thing I've introduced to my mod is a little change of view for battleships and carriers. For me it's annoying to stare at the top of the screen, however the view from cruisers and destroyers is nice.

In the stock campaigns it is like this:

For light ship sizes it's the same:


Probably, you've already noticed this change on the screenshots from my previous post, however I've decided to focus more attention on it.
